Apple TV Software 2.0.2 offers Flickr update, fixes?
Tuesday, April 15, 2008 @ 12:15am

Apple on Monday released Apple TV Software 2.0.2, an update to its set-top box software that brings (undocumented) bug fixes along with a single discoverable feature: it adds a viewable gallery of your contact's favorites photos within Flickr -- in addition to the previously available ability to view a contact's publicly available photo-streams. Some users also report faster menu and/or networking performance: one user on Apple's discussion boards reports getting better network connectivity with some 802.11n networks.

"I noticed nothing new except one huge fix - having wide channels enabled on 5GHz Apple Extreme 802.11N networks no longer crashes/stutters the box," one reader wrote in Apple's support forums. "I have gotten smooth data transfers for a few hours now with wide channels enabled on my 5GHz N network with the 2.02 update. Prior to that, with 2.0.1, the ATV would crash hard when data transfer started."

Apple releases a 'bug' fix software update and don't tell people what those fixes are!

BTW, for those who keep talking about Apple getting into enterprise, this is another area that Apple will have to start documenting, not just blowing off as "Trust us, we fixed stuff, but you go figure out what it was and whether you need the fixes".
