Clarendon Apple Store shooting sees one wounded
Friday, July 3, 2009 @ 12:50pm

A shooting incident at the Clarendon Apple Store in Arlington, Virginia has left one wounded, news networks report. The shot was fired shortly after 10AM local time, and the victim has since been sent to a local hospital. Police have formed a perimeter around the area, hunting for a suspect still at large.

While little else is known about the shooting, a Fox affiliate elaborates that the suspect may have run out the back door. He is described as a black man in his twenties, wearing a fake beard. He may also be wearing beige clothing, and have fired the gun in a back room of the store.

Say a woman was shot at the back door, but police didn't know if he was after merchandise or money.

Um, I'd say it was merchandise, because Apple doesn't accept money anymore, do they? And if they did, it wouldn't be sitting around in the back.

But it could be the next big marketing campaign for Microsoft! "Get Pink. No one's been shot trying to get one..."

What is it with guns and Virginia?

    Not a problem with guns..

It's the criminals illegally possessing guns and who use them to commit crimes. It's not a Virginia thing. If gun laws worked D.C. would be nirvana. NOT. Guns save lives.

Yes, virginia again. First it was the 'DC sniper' (well, they hit MD and DC too, but why quibble). Then Va Tech. Now this.

I feel sorry for the people who live in that state. They should all move to where there isn't all that gun crime.

Now, if anyone cares to tell them where that is....

People who legally possess guns are just as capable of shooting people as those that don't.

That's like saying "It's all those people driving with suspended licenses causing the deaths on the roads."

Actually, I feel sorry for those people who live in Virginia because they, well, live in Virginia. Having to deal with UVA grads just makes a bad thing worse.

But, hey, at least they've figured out their solution to their traffic nightmares. Spend $3 billion on a completely redone set of interstate interchanges, allow a private company to build toll lanes for those rich enough to afford them and bypass traffic, then think "Maybe we should do something about mass transit!"

@testudo: totally wrong analogy and baseless. Do your research and you'll find citizens lawfully possessing concealed firearms, in fact, save at least 250,000 lives each year and don't, in fact, commit crimes. Criminals illegally possessing and using firearms commit the crimes. This guy knew something about the Apple store and knew when he might be able to take his chance.

Fresh-Faced Recruit ought to provide some references for that fantastic claim - and NRA propaganda doesn't count.
