Dora the Explorer interactive learning games debut for Mac
Tuesday, November 3, 2009 @ 10:45am

Avanquest Software’s Nova Development unit in collaboration with Nickelodeon has launched three new children’s software titles for the Mac, consisting of Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego Go! characters. The two latest Dora the Explorer games include Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom and Dora the Explorer Lost and Found Adventure--both require children to search for various items that have been taken from them and hidden away.

Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom features a greedy king who has stolen some crystals that give Princess Allie’s kingdom color, and requires children to help Dora and Boots locate and return the crystals in order to bring light back to the kingdom.

Dora the Explorer Lost and Found Adventure takes place in a park where a music show that was planned by Dora and her friends is interrupted when Swiper arrives and steals everything. Using a variety of math problem-solving and language skills players can help Dora and her friends find their toys, party decorations, instruments and picnic items, by exploring and searching different areas including the beach, circus, and nutty forest.

Go, Diego Go! Great Dinosaur Rescue & Safari Rescue is an adventure game designed for pre-schoolers, and takes players through two complete rescue missions involving the world of dinosaurs and the fields of Africa. The game features characters such as Diego, Juma, Baby Jaguar and Alicia, as well as tools for teaching children math, reading and language skills.

Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom and Go, Diego Go! are both compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, while Dora the Explorer Lost and Found Adventure requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later. All three titles can be found on the company’s website and are priced at $20 each.
