Facebook for iOS sees update to version 5.1
Monday, November 5, 2012 @ 7:10pm

The iOS version of Facebook's mobile app received an update today, bringing it to version 5.1. The update adds a change to app navigation as well as changes that make sharing multiple photos easier. The update is available as a free download in Apple's iTunes App Store.

Users of the Facebook app will now be able to swipe left anywhere in the app in order to see who is available online and send a message. They can also add friends to a Favorites list, making it easier to access them for messaging. It also adds an activity notification, allowing users to see which friends are using the site and when they might expect a reply. The update also brings improvements to photo sharing, allowing for greater ease of sharing when dealing with multiple photos. For US users, the update brings Facebook Gifts, allowing users to give their friends real gifts.
