Canon announced today that it would be releasing a new ultra-long focus zoom lens, the RS-IL04UL, which would be compatible with Canon's RealiS Professional A/V series projectors. The new lens will give users the flexibility of placing professional A/V systems anywhere from 15 to 290 feet away from a desired projection area. The RS-IL04UL is optimized for 60" to 600" screens, and is best suited for larger venues. It has a suggested list price of $3499, and it should be available at the end of November.
Seidio unveils Vitreo tempered glass shield
Seidio announced yesterday the release of a new protective shield for iPads, the Vitreo. Featuring tempered glass, the Vitreo is compatible the newest iPad, the third-generation iPad, and the iPad 2. Vitreo has a 9H hardness rating, allowing it to absorb shocks from drops. It also has an oleophobic coating, making it resistant to fingerprints and smudges.It adds about 0.55mm in thickness to an iPad's profile, and it preserves the touchscreen functionality of the device when applied. Vitreo retails for $70, and it is available at Seidio site.
