Australian hard rock band AC/DC have signed a deal to put their whole catalog on the iTunes Store. The library includes 16 studio albums, four live recordings, and featured tracks on three compilations. Unique to iTunes are two collections: the first, simply titled The Collection, costs $100 and bundles together all of the band's studio albums. The Complete Collection is $150, but incorporates the live albums as well as rare and demo tracks.
AC/DC has long been missing from the iTunes Store, and it's not clear what breakthrough might've been achieved behind the scenes. In the past, bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd have resisted appearing on iTunes due to specific contract terms demanded by Apple; Pink Floyd, for instance, was opposed to some tracks being sold individually instead of only on an album.
