Apple teases Black Friday event on Australian, US site [U]
Monday, November 19, 2012 @ 9:00pm

[Update: US site updated with sale info] Apple has posted a teaser on its Australian and now US and other websites for its annual Black Friday sale. "The one-day Apple shopping event is Friday, 23 November," the ad reads. "Get ready to give. Shop online or visit your favourite Apple Retail Store. We'll help you make the most of the day, no matter how you shop."

Black Friday represents one of the few occasions in which Apple is willing to put products on sale. The company generally only offers small discounts though, for instance taking $101 (US) off Mac purchases, or $41 to $61 off iPads. The deals do, however, draw plenty of traffic to Apple's online and offline stores, in some cases from third-party retailers selling the same products. The US website has now been updated with the same information regarding US retail stores. Emails are expected to go out to US customers early Tuesday as they did in Australia.
