Mirye Software announces Shade 13, Free Shade 3D for Unity
Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 5:09pm

Publisher Mirye announced today the immediate release of Shade 13, its line of professional 3D modeling, rendering, and animation tools. The new version of Shade adds a number of new tools and features, including new Skin and Bone Joint systems, making it easier to generate realistic characters for animation. Mirye also announced a free version of Shade 3D for Unity on Mac OS X, one based on the full version of Shade, but adding specific features for game developers.

Among Shade 13's new key features is a new suite of shade replicators, allowing for multi-object instancing of multiple objects along paths and surfaces, weight painting that enables more realistic bending, and the ability to generate skies based on real world coordinates. It also adds advanced FBX support, allowing users to import, modify, and export game-ready content. The free version of Shade 3D for Unity adds rig support with inverse kinematics, paintable bone weight mapping tools, bezier spline modeling, key frame animation, and a UV editor and texture map manager. It also brings advanced 3D polygon mesh editing and draft Raytrace rendering for preview rendering. Shade 3D for Unity is available for download through the Mac App Store, while Shade 13 is available at Mirye's site. Shade 13 is available as a free 30-day trial copy, while Basic copies sell for $99 and Standard licenses sell for $349. A Professional version is also available for $749.
