Tuesday, December 11, 2012 @ 3:43pm
Apple has issued a minor update for its Find My iPhone app, adding driving directions to device locations. Several buttons, namely Play Sound, Lost Mode, and Erase iPhone, have also been removed from the map view and are now shown on the device info screen. Find My iPhone is a free service that lets MobileMe subscribers track the location of an Apple device, as well as send message and sound alerts directly to the device. An option for remotely wiping the device adds additional security for those afraid of having confidential data compromised.
Instagram update adds new filter, improved camera functions
Instagram, the popular photo sharing service, has undergone a major update introducing a new monochrome filter called Willow. The app's camera has also been redesigned, including an Instagram-themed shutter and shutter release button, a preview of the most recent photo, an optional grid guide for live photos, and both speed and reliability improvements. The Tilt-Shift feature has also been enhanced with a brand new algorithm that is said to increase both quality and accuracy.
