| Cobra showed off some of its upcoming gear at a pre-CES event and the most noteworthy included the iRadar S-Series that's the first radar detector of its kind. It already earned a CES Innovation Honoree title and is unique in that it mounts out of the way under the hood of a vehicle and sends alerts over Bluetooth to an iOS or Android device.
The free companion app that is needed in order to get updates and warnings of police presence also includes crowd-sourced information about common radar locations, dangerous intersections, and law enforcement cameras.
The detector on display was from the UK, and an Android version wasn't yet available. The kit will ship to the US this June, priced at $299.
Also shown were the AirWave Bluetooth and HH500 floating marine radio that connects to a user's phone over Bluetooth to allow for calls without having the phone out in the elements. It's due in stores later in January, priced at $150. AirWave is a music bridge that lets users stream music wirelessly from Bluetooth devices to speakers or systems with a 3.5mm audio input. It arrives by the end of March, priced at $40.
