Lunatik TAKTIK, SEISMIK, FLAK for iPhone 5 up for pre-order
Monday, February 11, 2013 @ 5:46am

Lunatik has placed its new TAKTIK, SEISMIK and FLAK cases for the iPhone 5 up for pre-order. The new cases place an emphasis on shock protection for outdoor users, or users looking for some additional drop protection beyond the average case. The SEISMIK will be familiar to users of the Lunatik TAKTIK case for the iPhone 4.

The new TAKTIK ($124.95) case for iPhone 5 is a complex multi-component case that is designed for rugged outdoor protection. It aims to protect the iPhone 5 from impact, drops, and screen damage as well as from water and dust. It supplements the Gorilla Glass 2 used in the iPhone 5 with an optional Gorilla Glass protective lens. All access ports are sealed with latches, although Lunatik says that most third-party accessories will still work with the device. The SEISMIK Suspension Frame ($34.95) uses what Lunatik calls an Impact Truss system that features in the TAKTIK case. It also uses a hardshell back panel that comes in a choice of black, blue, yellow and pink. The emphasis with the case is on drop and bump protection, without any of the water and dust repellant capabilities of the TAKTIK. The FLAK ($34.95) uses a dual-layer design with low profile layers to help keep both the weight and the bulk down. The internal layer is a soft TPU material, while the external shell is made of polycarbonate. It is available in black, white, red and pink. All of the cases are due to ship in the next two to four weeks.
