Adobe shuts off BrowserLab testing service
Thursday, March 14, 2013 @ 11:28am

Adobe is putting an end to its free BrowserLab service effective immediately, the company has announced. The service simplified testing websites across multiple desktop browsers. Adobe says, though, that the market has shifted towards smartphones and tablets, causing BrowserLab use to drop during the past year. The company adds that its engineers have been "focusing on solving this new challenge with new solutions."

As a stopgap measure, Adobe is pointing people to third-party options like BrowserStack and Sauce Labs. The latter is currently running a special promotion for BrowserLab users, including 10 hours of free manual testing for two open browsers, after which time a person's Sauce account will revert to the standard free option limited to just 30 minutes per month. The deal expires after April 12th.
