Briefly: MechWarrior on the iPhone, Civ V Brave New World

Developer Personae Studios has announced the newest revision of MechWarrior: Tactical Command is now a universal app. The classic game set in the BattleTech universe has expanded on the previous versions to bring optimized graphics, real-time strategy and three planets where the player commands a skilled lance of MechWarriors to fight for command of the Star League. The evolving story allows the player to get to know the personality of each of the MechWarriors through cut scenes and in-game video which also serve to keep the mission objectives clear throughout each assignment. The application is available for $0.99 through March 16.



Firaxis expands Civilization V with upcoming Brave New World expansion Acclaimed Firaxis strategy title Civilization V is set to receive a new expansion pack this summer. Titled Brave New World, the pack features nine new civilizations with accompanying leaders, new game scenarios, eight new wonders of the world, including customizable international trade routes between cities, a new culture victory, new "World Congress" diplomacy feature, which can level trade sanctions against countries, and decide other international matters such as global sporting events or a nuclear weapon policy. Pricing has not been set for the expansion, which will be available for both Mac OS X and Windows.
