Briefly: Pebble smartwatch firmware, Novatel MiFi 2 on Bell

Kickstarter-funded smartwatch Pebble has received an update to fix a showstopping bug. The new 1.9.1 firmware came into being following reports received by Engadget of users finding their timepieces stopped working after shutting down, and is said to fix the issue. Customers with watches on older firmware that do not switch back on can request for a replacement through e-mail or the companion Pebble app.



Novatel MiFi 2 touchscreen mobile hotspot available on Bell Canadian carrier Bell has put the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2 mobile hotspot on sale. Also known as the MiFi Liberate, the MiFi 2 is a mobile hotspot that allows up to 10 devices to connect over Wi-Fi and use Bell's 4G LTE network. Featuring a 2.8-inch touchscreen for configuration and network management, the MiFi 2 is claimed to last for up to 11 hours of continuous use. It is on sale for $200 off-contract, or $50 when bought alongside a two-year contract.
