iPhone 5S, 5C could reach China on November 28th
Friday, August 23, 2013 @ 11:22am

The iPhone 5S and 5C could reach China as soon as November 28th, according to local publication the First Financial Daily. The main obstacle at the moment is said to be the verification process required by the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The report also echoes claims that the phones will support TDD-LTE, the 4G standard using by heretofore-unsupported Chinese carrier China Mobile.

The phones are rumored to be launching in the US, Japan, and several other countries on or around September 20th, following a press event on the 10th. A November 28th debut would actually be relatively quick for China, which has normally lagged several months behind the US in terms of iPhones, and didn't receive any models until the 3GS. China Mobile -- the largest cellular carrier in the world -- has never sold the iPhone, due to its decision to opt for a proprietary 3G standard, TD-SCDMA. TDD-LTE should be easier for Apple to support.
