TP-Link announced yesterday its latest networking product, the TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wireless N Range Extender. The device's small size and AC plug wall-mounted design are suitable for around the house and office. The Universal Range Extender is to be placed between one's main router and the area where additional Wi-Fi coverage is needed. Users can also position the Range Extender to concurrently extend their coverage while functioning as a Wi-Fi adapter through the built-in Ethernet port, providing network access to TVs, game consoles, Blu-ray players and other Ethernet-enabled devices. Setup is facilitated by the built-in range extender button, which pairs the Range Extender with a main router after simultaneously pressing its WPS button. Compatible with the latest Windows 8 OS, the TL-WA850RE Range Extender is priced at $40 and is available from various online and retail locations.
