iTunes 11.1 adds iOS 7, iTunes Radio support, Podcast Stations
Wednesday, September 18, 2013 @ 12:11pm

Apple has released iTunes 11.1, a critical update of its media jukebox and sync software. The update is essential for syncing with iOS 7 devices, and also adds desktop support for iTunes Radio, an otherwise iOS 7-based streaming service. Another new feature is the concept of Podcast Stations, which lets users organize groups of auto-updating podcasts. Stations, subscriptions, and play positions should sync with the iOS Podcasts app.

A final major addition is Genius Shuffle. Unlike Genius Mixes, Shuffle can be used within a person's general library, automatically generating a non-stop playlist based on songs iTunes thinks go together. Mac and Windows versions of the update are available either through Apple's Software Update tool or the iTunes website.
