Sequence 1.0 screen capture tool released for Leopard
Friday, July 4, 2008 @ 2:45pm

App4mac on Friday unveiled Sequence 1.0 for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, its screenshot and video capture tool designed to use multithreaded code and a 64-bit enabled compression system. Sequence allows users to capture screenshots and movies of the entire screen or segments within, and send the resulting media to either the clipboard or into a file. App4mac is selling Sequence 1.0 for $20, and is available for download from the company's website.

Screenshots can be saved as several file formats: BMP, PICT, GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIFF, while almost any video or audio source can be captured, including from DVDs. Sequence is able to capture both from the screen and webcam at the same time, allowing users to create training videos and the like, with optional microphone dubbing.

Users can also "doodle" on the screenshots and videos, in order to offer notes or visual context for others.

Sequence takes advantage of several core Leopard technologies, including Core Animation, QuickLook, QTKit, Core Image, and iChat Theater, among others.

Makes me wonder why Ambrosia never really updates SnapzPro. Not only does their GUI start to look old...but it feels like they don't really look at the competition either.
