Radio Shack in a terse notice today said it would begin selling the iPhone 3G and 3GS in its retail stores later this month. The initial rollout is small and will be limited to certain company-run stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well as in New York City. Expansion to all of its stores isn't expected until 2010. The move makes Radio Shack the third retailer outside of Apple and AT&T to sell the iPhone following earlier expansion to include Best Buy and Walmart. Radio Shack in recent months has made a push both to remake its image and to focus more attention on cellphones. It currently sells handsets from all major carriers but until now has had to exclude the iPhone. |
