MiniCalendar is just what its name implies, a miniature calendar. This utility from Catara Software is not designed to replace computerized datebooks such as Claris Organizer; instead, it can be used as a supplement or by itself. Quite simply, MiniCalendar allows you to see a simple calendar for any month between 1582 and 29940 (yes, that's 29940). You can browse month by month, year by year, or by entering a specific date. MiniCalender also consumes very little desktop space, although it doesn't shrink down in size when in the background.
While the usefulness of knowing that my birthday will fall on a Wednesday in the year 29940 may come into question, this application is small enough to be kept on any hard drive. If you don't have a real calender near by, MiniCalender will prove to be useful to you whenever you need to look up a date. However, the main turn-off is its relatively expensive five dollar price tag. For the handful of times this product will be used, it would be nice to see it offered up for free to the Mac community. -PK
