A Better Finder Rename Download
Pros: quick, easy, straight forward
Cons: limited appeal, price
A Better Finder Rename is a unique contextual menu designed to aid you in renaming multiple files. For example, if you unknowingly desinged a web site and used the .html suffix at the end of each file name whereas the server requires .shtml, you'd have to go back and manually change the name of each. With ABFR, you simply select the files you wish to rename, then access ABFR from the contextual menus. A window loads up that offers a plethora of options; from finding/replacing a certain string of text within the name, to adding it before or after the name, and others.
A single user license of ABFR will set you back $10, a price that's sure to keep the average user at bay. But if you're ever in a situation when such a task is necessary (I know I have), you'll be glad you have it. -MS
