Techworks is the latest company to enter into the USB hub foray with its 4-port PowerUSB Hub. The PowerUSB is a relatively compact hub (4.5"x3"x1.5") that's available in, and matches perfectly, the iMac's five flavors.
The PowerUSB has all the features you'd expect to find on a quality USB hub, including support for both bus and self-power. With bus power the PowerUSB draws its power from the USB bus, which is fine for low power devices such as keyboards and mice, but if you plan on connecting a modem or Zip drive you'll need to use the provided power adapter. The power adapter is one of the bulkiest we've seen but it can rest out of sight on the floor.
The PowerUSB carries a list price of $59 and a street price closer to $45, which is on par with similar products; and with it's sleek design and nice plastics, the PowerUSB has overtaken Entrega's hub as our favorite.
